Newbury House Dictionary - An ESL Dictionary with simpler definitions. Merriam Webster's Online Language Center - This is a higher level dictionary and thesaurus.  

OneLook Dictionaries - An online guide to more than 345 general and specialized dictionaries

Little Explorers Dictionary
It's a very simple dictionary at Enchanted Learning.com, but very visual and helpful.
Common Errors in English - This site by a Washington State University professor gives assistance for word problems and other language problems as well as resources students can use.  Longman Web Dictionary - An online ESL dictionary from a trusted source.

Encyclopedias

Use the Encarta CD's in RLC 141 classroom. Concise Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia - A free online resource.
Britannica.com - A free resource. It contains links to the encyclopedia articles, web links, a dictionary, and news. It's an excellent resource.   

Thesaurus

Thesaurus.com - The standard thesaurus. This resource helps you to find the an alternate word.

A Spelling Test - Test your spelling and find resources to improve your spelling.  First Find - It's a great site for starting to research topics of interest. It's made for ESL Students The GRCC Basic Skills collection. This is a special collection of books, tapes and videos for students who are learning English and improving their reading skills.  
Free Click Art -  Use these sites to find click art for your projects.     

Idioms - Use one of these sources to study idioms and slang.

Comenius - The Comenius group posts a new idiom to study each month. Read and listen to a short conversation.  Dave's ESL Cafe - The ESL idiom page lists many useful idioms with definitions and examples. 
The Idiom Connection - Gives definitions and quizzes of idioms grouped by subject.  Idiom Worksheets - Exercises from GRCC based on classroom assignments.
