Parent-Child Education

Parent-Child Education is shared learning in early childhood for families.  It provides important opportunities for parents to study their own children's development and behavior at different ages and to participate fully in that learning process.

Teachers, hired by each program, set up a sound educational curriculum for young children and establish routines and activities that promote social, physical, mental, emotional and creative growth for each child.  A Parent-Child Education instructor, provided by the college, is assigned to each program and serves as an educator and resource person to the parents, the preschool teacher and the children.

Parents earn college credits for participation in the co-op program.  An additional lab fee is paid to the preschool for the child's participation.

Opportunities are available for families with children age birth to 5 years, at 6 locations throughout the community.

For more information, contact the individual programs listed below or contact the program director, Leslie Kessler.
