One of the unique features of our program is that students get the opportunity to build an actual full size home; from its foundation to installing all finish material and hardware.  The lead instructor describes this learning process as "from dirt to door knobs," meaning students gain skills and  knowledge in all phases of carpentry, as it relates to a residential home (foundations, framing, exterior trim, interior trim, decks and concrete flatwork).  In addition to carpentry skills, students also gain insight into the entire process of building a home from the permit process, inspections, working with sub-contractors, scheduling and estimating.
