Youd Sinh Chao has been an ON-CALL Court Interpreter with King County Court House since 1986, interpreting for Mien, Hmong, Lao, and Thai speakers.  In addition to his GRCC ESL classes, he is a Vocational ESL Instructor at Asian Counseling and Referral Service.  He has been a National Adult Camp Director, Youth and Family Clinical Case Manager, Problem-Based Learning Summer School Instructor, Self-Contained ELD Teacher, Secondary School Advisor and Curriculum Coordinator, Mien Literacy Teacher, and President of the Iu-Mien Cultural and Educational Association of Orville, California.  He has published "Southeast Asian Cultures in Transition:  A Study on How Cultural and Environmental Factors  Influence Students' Academic Achievement."  He edited "Beginning to Read", Books B and C, Mien translations of Houghton Mifflin Literacy Readers, published by Merced City School District, Merced, CA.  He has awards for academic excellence and for outstanding dedication, contributions, and role modeling.

M.A. in Education (ELD/ESL) and B.A. from California State University at Chico, California.
