Kate Viskova graduated from Moscow State University by earning a Master's Degree in Linguistics with an emphasis on the English Language and English Literature. After graduation, she taught  English as a Foreign Language in an  Aviation College in Moscow. She also worked as an EFL instructor at the Department of Advanced Foreign Languages with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations. Since coming to the USA, Kate has taken the courses in teaching ESL from Seattle University and Seattle Pacific University. Kate has obtained Continuing State of Washington Teacher's Certificate with ESL, English Language and Russian Language Endorsements. Kate has taught ESL in Elementary, Junior High and High School.

Before becoming a part of Green River Community College ESL Team, she taught at Highline Community College. Additionally, Kate has professional translator/ interpreter's certificates and has been an interpreter for the DSHS offices in King County. Kate also interprets and works in the Washington State Center For Civil Education.

In her free time Kate enjoys reading, gardening and travelling.
