My Story

My name is Atsuko Hatano. I am from Tokyo Japan. I have been here since 1991. So, I have been living in the U.S. for a while. 

I have two children. They are both boys. The eldest is in junior high; the youngest is in the first grade. They both attend Japanese school and English school. 

My life is to provide my children with the best education as possible. In order to accomplish this, it is necessary for me to learn the English language. 

Going back to school has not been easy and there are many difficulties, especially at my age. With all the help from GRCC teachers it has been a smooth ride. 

I have been attending GRCC since March 2002. I enjoy attending classes and meeting many people from different counties. Having this opportunity makes me realize how great this country is. I intend to continue to study and hopefully acquire a good future for my family and me.
