My Story Hi! My name is Raquel. I came from Mexico ten years ago, I am from a small ranch called La Purisima, in Zacatecas Mexico, there are only ten houses made out of mud. I arrived to Los Angeles in 1992. My first impression was when I saw all those cars and big freeway bridges in such a big city. I had never seen anything like that before. It was amazing. The next thing I loved was the language that everybody spoke. I couldn’t understand a word, and I promised myself to learn it. So, the next day I went to enroll myself in an English class. In these ten years so many things have been going on. I got married. I have two beautiful children, and I moved to Washington. I got my GED and I am still learning English. I like this language so much that I want to learn the most of it. I love this country as much as I love Mexico and I’d like to learn more about it. |
