My Story My name is Roza. I’m from the northern part of Russia. I have been here since September 1999. My husband won a Green Card; that way we moved to the U.S.A. In 1997, I was in the U.S. like a guest. Nothing made me very surprised because I had traveled a lot before. There is one difference between U.S. and another countries. All Americans are very private and almost all live in there own house. I love it. We have one daughter. Her name is Natasha. She lives in Russia with her own family. I also have one granddaughter. My granddaughter’s name is Maria. Now she is in a first grade.  I have been in GRCC since June 2000. I love this college, I’ve met a lot of people from different countries. When I moved to the U.S.A., I couldn’t speak any English, and also I couldn’t understand any English. I felt very bad and it seems to me I lost myself. To attend college every day helps me to learn English, and now I have a full time job. I love my job, because it’s a good chance to improve my English. However, I hope when my English is better, I will be able to find a better job. My husband and I live in Renton. We rent one bedroom apartment. I have very lovely neighbor, Barbara. If I need something help, Barbara helps me with grateful. I’m very happy to have such lovely neighbor. Now I’m feeling much better about being here. I have a goal and I very hope that it will come true. |
