My Story

My name is Svetlana. I am from Ukraine. I was born in Rivne. I arrived in the United States in July 2001. My family was very happy when saw relatives. In my city Rivne, I worked in a drugstore. I have been in the US for 9 months. I live in Renton. I have two daughters.

I like to read Bible stories to my children. I like to read books, bake cookies, cook, sing songs, and listen to music on the radio. I study English, because I want to have a good job and speak correctly with American people. I like nature in America, because many green trees and bushes are here. My favorite days of the week are Saturday and Sunday.

I like the seasons of spring and summer. I like to celebrate Christmas holiday, because many people spend a lot of money on gifts decorations, food, drink, clothing and vacations. I like native food and pizza. I think the US is a wonderful country. I’m glad I live here.
