My Story Hi! I’m from Korea 12 years ago. This is my first quarter as a student at GRCC. Often my classmates asked me, “What have you been doing all those years?” For these 12years, I’ve been learning as a wife, and a mother. Now I can say “ I’m a professional house wife.” A wife needs so many expert skills. Both of my sons (10 years old and 8 years old) are on the swim team, so they practice three times a week for an hour. My first son plays violin, and my second son plays piano. As a mom, it isn’t easy to make balance between school, and house job, so I have to start my day as early as I can. In the present time, I’m living for my family, but I like to work for community in the near future. That is the first reason that I come to school and I enjoy my school days. Also reading other student’s stories in the computer class inspires me a lot. It is good to challenge myself. I told to my children, “Do not tell me, I can not do it, just tell me, it looks hard but I am trying my best.” Now, it is my turn to prove myself what I always tell to my children. As you know, it isn’t easy to start your life at foreign country. I have my own dream. However life doesn’t go on the way you expect. For first few years I regretted that I came to America. One fine day I asked myself, ‘Why I’m so sad these beautiful days?’ I remembered Sunday preaching. “There is a half cup of water. You might think two ways. There is only half cup of water or there is a still half cup of water.” I decided to change my attitude.  I believe that “The way you thinking changes your action. Your action changes your life” This is what I have figures out from my early America years. If you have problems, try to change your angle of view. It is much easier to change yourself than others. I hope every one gets what they want from school. Seize the day! |
