Traditionally called the Spring  Festival, the Lunar New Year remains the biggest celebration of the year in Taiwan. In the New Year's Eve the friends and relatives give "red envelopes" containing " lucky money". Firecrackers explode throughout the night on New Year's Eve and sporadically on the following day.

Lantern Festival is after Lunar New Year 15th days celebration.

June is a great time for festivities in Taiwan. Temple celebrations and the Dragon Boat Festival--all make Taiwan the place to be this month.

Another tradition of the season, stemming from this event, is the eating of a delicious rice dumpling called tsung tze. Eating tsung tze is a part of the celebrations of every Dragon Boat Festival.

Mid-Autumn Moon Festival
The Moon or Mid-Autumn Festival, on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month, observes the biggest and brightest full moon of the year, the harvest moon.

The Festival is a public holiday marked by family reunions, moon gazing, and the eating of moon cakes-round pastries stuffed with red bean paste and an egg yolk. Enjoy the quiet night and see the moon.
