Word Processing IV - Typing and Formatting A Whole Document
Directions: In the past, I have given you directions on how to format text. This text was already typed and saved. I gave you a copy, and you had to open the file and change it. Today, Im asking you to re-type this document. You have to do it exactly like this page. You have to use the same layout, font, font size, bold, italics, and underlining, justification, and the other elements of formatting we covered. I am not giving you this exercise on disk, because I want you to type it and check it all by yourself, including all directions. Here is a list of directions to follow. Check with the example on the board.
The Plow
Human beings have probably practiced farming of a kind for at least 30,000 years, but it was not until they began to break the soil systematically that they truly began to dominate the landscape and produce crops on what for many a century has been an industrial scale. The plow has enabled human beings to break the ecological law that says that big, fierce animals are rare, for we are the most formidable of all, and yet there are now 6 billion of us. The plow has transformed the world's landscape and pushed our fellow species to the sidelines.
