Writing Your Own Story

This is an opportunity to write your biography, or your own story. The first step is to view the stories of others who have done this before. Follow these directions…

  1. Go to Programs, then the Internet and start Internet Explorer.
  2. From the ESL main page, go to Student Activities and then Student Projects.
  3. Look through the different quarters and read the stories of students who have entered information about themselves.
  4. Answer these questions

                         Answers
  • What quarter and year are you reviewing?

  • What is the name of the student?

  • Where is the student from?

  • How long has the student been in America?

  • What does the student tell you about his or her family?

  • What else can you learn about this student?

5. Now you can write a story about yourself. You can use some of the same information that the students did before. You can also add other information about yourself such as your hobbies and interests. You should keep in mind that you can add more information and pictures later about yourself, your family, your country, and your life in America.
