Learning Objectives Examples

Objective #1:

What is the task to be accomplished, and when will it be completed?

By December 15, I will assemble a written training manual for administrative assistants in my division.

How will it be accomplished?

I will maintain a daily log of my activities specifying my duties, responsibilities, and my meetings with supervisory personnel.

How will it be measured/evaluated and by whom?

A three-member committee, including my supervisor, a human resources department representative, and a fellow employee will evaluate my final draft on the accuracy and    readability of the manual.

Objective #2:

What is the task to be accomplished, and when will it be completed?

By the end of the quarter, I will construct a minimum of five display AD layouts to be used by our newspaper customers.

How will it be accomplished?

I will meet five customers personally, determine their needs, and work with the AD manager a minimum of two days per week.

How will it be measured/evaluated and by whom?

By compiling a portfolio of my work on ADS that were actually run in our newspaper and then have the quality of those ADS evaluated by my supervisor.

Objective #3

What is the task to be accomplished, and when will it be completed?

By May 30, I will develop recommendations for reducing equipment failures.

How will it be accomplished?

I will thoroughly investigate equipment failures, identify the causes for those failures, and develop a list of recommendations.

How will it be measured/evaluated and by whom?

My supervisor will evaluate my list of recommendations and make any suggestions or changes before compiling my final recommendations.

Objective #4

What is the task to be accomplished, and when will it be completed?

By the end of the quarter, I will use MS Word to merge collection letters for 500 clients, to create a company newsletter, and to create daily letter correspondence.

How will it be accomplished?

By attending the MS Word class, using Word’s Help feature, and reading the Word textbook/manual to familiarize myself with the above features.

How will it be measured/evaluated and by whom?

By my supervisor on how accurate the merge is and the features that are used with and the quality of the newsletter and daily correspondence.
