Dixie Cattell, CCR, RPR

Cattell & Associates
dcattell@comcast.net

I graduated from Green River in 1980, working for a freelance agency for a year before venturing out on my own. Over the years my clientele grew to the point of needing to hire other reporters to help me. My business is located in Olympia, and I have recently opened the first public videoconferencing room in the Olympia area. I love reporting and technology and would welcome questions from any students. I would love to share with you any knowledge I can to help make the transition easier from student to working reporter.

My hobbies include: boating in the San Juan's every summer, downhill skiing, gardening, horseshoes, reading, and
cross-stitch.

I have been a freelance reporter at James, Sanderson & Lowers Court Reporters since May of 2000. I am a recent graduate of the Green River Computer Reporting Technologies Program, and I have been involved in freelance reporting as well as participating in some realtime sports captioning. I am married to an attorney (Sean Wickens), who is also a member of the advisory board, and have one daughter (Tayler) with a son on the way (July 21st).

It has always been my promise to myself that when I graduated from Green River, I would continue to stay actively involved with their reporting program. I sincerely invite any students to e-mail me or call me. I would truly love to chat with you.

Kasey Manning
CART Provider
kaseymanning@comcast.net

I have been working as a CART provider in the educational field since 2001.
I've worked at the high school, community college, and university level, both on site and online.
I do remote CART work over the internet and have captioned classes all over the United States and in Canada.

When not working, I enjoy crafts, reading, and Husky football.
I look forward to any questions or concerns you may have about educational captioning.

Lorriane Millay, CCR, RPR
Seattle Deposition Reporters
Lmmillay@cs.com

I graduated from Green River in 1980 and have been reporting since then.  I began my reporting career doing Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals hearings for about three months for Jeanette Hanson-Hughes, then went to work for
Dean Moburg & Assoc. for three years, then to Byers & Anderson for five years. And I've been with
Seattle Deposition Reporters going on 20 years June 2008.

I enjoy skiing in the winters and gardening and yard work in the summer. I also enjoy running, which I hadn't done in almost 20 years, and completed my first half marathon last May.  I am training for my next half marathon in April,
and will be training for my first triathlon this summer.

Kim Rashell
Broadcast Captioner
Caption Colorado
rashellkr@comcast.net

I’ve been an employee of Caption Colorado since October 2006. I started as a part-timer, and switched to full-time work
in January of 2007. I caption local television programming, including news, sporting events, and other non-news shows
all around the country. I usually start my day in Minneapolis and end in California, with stops in Philadelphia, Florida,
South Carolina, and Phoenix along the way. I also caption for quarterly earnings calls hosted by major Fortune 500 companies. Those real-time transcripts are uploaded to an editor and to the Internet in realtime. The editor will then perfect
the transcript and the companies can use these as proof to the S.E.C. that they held their quarterly earnings calls.

When I’m not captioning, my husband and I love to play board games, play with our two cats, and teach our two lovebirds
new things to scream at us. Please feel free to contact me with any questions you might have about the ins and outs of captioning. I look forward to hearing from you.
