The GRCC ESOL Program has two classes in computers for English. The first is for students in Levels 1, 2, & 3. This class is for students in Levels 4, 5, & 6.  Both classes are taught as support classes in the program., but teachers are also encouraged to bring their level classes to a computer lab. The main purpose of this class is to have students use computers as a tool to improve their English language skills, but students will also learn technology skills that will be helpful in the work, family, community and student life.

The students have access to a variety of programs and internet resources through these classroom  experiences and they have independent access to computers in the GRCC Library and Technology Center as well as at the Kent Center technology classrooms. Some of the resources for students are accessible through this site but also through the students read and write folders which are available through the campus student network.

The ESOL Technology Coordinator is available to orient and train instructors in the use of these resources. The tech aides are also available to assist instructors, including registering their students in various programs and to maintain the operation of the classroom. Contact John Avery, at javery@greenriver.edu for any assistance.
