Curriculum for the ESOL Program at Green River Community College

GRCC is one of 34 community and technical colleges in the State of Washington. As part of this system, we follow the guidelines and use the resources of the Office of Adult Basic Education of the State Board for Community and Technical College. This office has been active in developing a Standards-Based Curriculum Framework for all colleges in the system. GRCC faculty have participated in the development of this Curriculum Framework and used it to incorporate the Washington State Learning Standards into our program outcomes. You can access these essential documents by going to our resource page for the SBCTC.

As part of the state's curriculum system, the local colleges are responsible to develop their own local curriculum within the state's framework. The curriculum for GRCC's ESOL program can be found at this website by clicking on the links below. It is our goal to have this be a current, but constantly evolving curriculum and to have it posted at this site for access by instructors.

To accompany our program's local curriculum, we have also developed and published here extensive Course Materials for our classes. You can access these through the links from the navigation bar.

Non-GRCC instructors are welcome to access the curriculum and materials for instruction. We ask that all materials developed by GRCC faculty and accessed from this website be used "as is" without modification.

Some testing materials are included on this site, but for the sake of security, they are password protected. GRCC instructors should contact the ESOL Coordinator for access to these and additional assessments.
