GRCC GIS Alliance

The GIS Alliance is a club representing the GIS program at GRCC. It is composed of students, faculty, and staff associated with the GIS program and any other individuals interested in GIS and other geospatial technologies. The club is open to all interested students of GRCC. The Alliance elects student officials in the fall who will guide and organize the club throughout the school year. The primary objective of the Alliance is to foster relationships outside of GRCC with organizations and individuals in the GIS and geospatial technology career fields. Establishing relationships with GIS professionals opens up many internship and employment opportunities for GRCC GIS students. Examples of Alliance events include field trips to ESRI seminars, guest speakers, on-line seminars, and GIS program promotions/demonstrations at local high schools. The Alliance also provides an opportunity for GIS interested students to get together to share their experiences and learn from each other.
