Check out photos of Newman College in the Photos section.
While at Newman College of the University of Melbourne, students will be accommodated in single rooms. These are college dormitories with shared baths and communal eating facilities. Breakfast is included daily and lunch is included four days per week while at Newman College.
Located in the green and leafy suburb of Parkville, Newman College is two kilometres (1¼ miles) from the centre of the city. Melbourne's famous trams have a stop which is a short walk from the front gates of Newman. From there, it is a brief tram journey to the many attractions in the city of Melbourne.
The rooms themselves at Newman are very spacious. Each room has basic furnishings, such as a wooden desk, bookshelf, study chair, lounge chair, chest of drawers, built-in wardrobe and, perhaps most importantly, a bed. In addition, every room in the College is centrally heated and has it's own telephone. Many rooms in the College also have a wash basin and medicine cabinet. Also, since early 1997, all rooms have access to the Internet.
