History 200 DE

Week 1

Dr. Bruce Haulman

Welcome Week 1 of Pacific Northwest History

To get started in this class you need to do five things:

1. Take the self-exam "Is An On-Line Course For Me," and email me your results and a short paragraph with your reactions to the exam.  I have you do this so you can assess yourself before taking this class to make sure you will be successful.  I ask you to e-mail me your results and a short paragraph so I know you can use the e-mail system and I get a sample of your writing abilities.

2. Read through the syllabus on the Syllabus link Lessons Tab.   Then post one question and one observation about the syllabus to the Message Board in the Lessons Tab.   This assignment lets me know you have read the syllabus and understand what this course expects of you, begins your contact with other students on the Message Board.

3.  Go to one of the links listed below, choose a link to follow and then e-mail me a short paragraph describing the site, why you chose it, and your reactions to it. (about 300 words will do)  This assignment lets me know you know how to use the web, lets me know something about your interests in Pacific Northwest History, and again gives me a sample of your writing abilities.

(about 300 words will do)  This assignment lets me know something about your interests in this local area, and gives me another sample of your writing abilities.
