Homepage for Lotus | Assignments | Current World ProblemsHSC 031 and 032Official course description: Introduction to international issues of globalization, poverty and development, debt, education, migration, refugees, and workers’ struggles. Students will be required to find sources published abroad, and to compare the information from those sources with sources published in the U.S. Privacy policy: Students attending GRCC high school programs are covered by the federal student privacy laws. This means that no school employee, including instructors and counselors, may disclose any information about a student to anyone without the student’s written permission. This includes parents. The result of this law is that the responsibility for success is placed squarely on the student, who of course may voluntarily enlist support from family, friends, or school employees. I offered these classes in Fall, 2008, for the first time in a year. There were only 3 students, so the class was cancelled. There are many classes that meet this requirement. Consider the options below, or see an advisor. American Minority & Ethnic Studies 100, Economics 100, Geography 100, 108, or 200, History 103, 225, 231, or 250, Philosophy 102, Political Science 100, 201, or 203, and Sociology 110. |
