“We want to welcome you into the ranks of the Green River tenured faculty,” said Rich Rutkowski, college president.  “You have been reviewed by your peers, administrators, and students, and have distinguished yourself in a very extensive and demanding process.”

The probationary instructor will go through an evaluation period of nine consecutive quarters before being awarded tenure by the Board.  A separate, individual committee, consisting of one student, an academic administrator, and two faculty members, is assigned to evaluate each probationer.

In other board news, the 2006 All-Washington Academic Team members, Brian Grover and Rebekah Eckloff, were introduced to the Trustees.  Grover and Eckloff were among 64 community and technical college students named to the academic team and honored by Governor Gregoire in a special ceremony recently.  Honorees received a $750 scholarship plus the opportunity for additional scholarships if they transfer to Washington state four-year schools.

Reports to the Board included a Monitoring Report on workforce and professional/technical programs, a report on Women’s Programs, a Capital Budget Request update, and a State Audit Report.
