Program Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the Practical Nursing program at Green River Community College the student will be able to:

  • Practice the professional role of the practical nurse within the legal and ethical standards as delineated in the Uniform Disciplinary Act which includes demonstrating a commitment to life-long learning.
  • Utilizes the nursing process as a method of critical thinking as patient care is individually assessed, developed and implemented.
  • Utilizes caring, sensitivity and knowledge while delivering culturally competent care to patients in all developmental stages of life.
  • Apply nursing knowledge, theoretical concepts and principles from the humanities, social sciences, behavioral, physical and biological sciences in the implementation of safe competent nursing care.
  • Utilize all methods of communications while demonstrating knowledge caring and cultural awareness to the promotion of positive health outcomes and the establishment of therapeutic relationships.
  • Practice and demonstrate teaching and learning of health promotion concepts in all developmental stages of life.
