A Short Biography I teach English as a Second Language at Green River Community College. I have been teaching since 1982 when I graduated from the University of Washington. I have a Master's Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language. When I am not teaching, I love to travel, whitewater canoe, listen to music, read, and look at art. Sometimes, I make art, too. I have visited more than 25 countries. While traveling I studied many languages--German, Japanese, Indonesian, French, Spanish.... These days, I am canoeing more than anything. I canoe almost every weekend on rivers in the mountains near Seattle. My favorite river is the Skykomish.
