Steve Kinholt

Professional Background
(I'm the one on the the left with the monkey, my twin has the lion, and my older brother has the cool red cowboy hat and spiffy boots.)

I've been a mathematics instructor at Green River Community College for the past 14 years. I also helped establish Project TEACH, a model teacher preparation program that focuses on the recruitment and preparation of future teachers at the community college.  As part of Project TEACH I helped design and teach a one-year mathematics sequence for elementary teachers.

I'm a former middle school mathematics instructor with twenty-four years of teaching experience.  My primary teaching and general focus has been on helping future elementary teachers become better teachers of mathematics. Three years ago I spent a one-year sabbatical teaching mathematics in the 3rd and 4th grade classrooms in two Seattle school. I recently served on the statewide committee that designed a new 2-year transfer degree for elementary education majors.
