SUBMITTING WORK

Assignments  Format  Responding  Tests  Unit Structures  Announcements

Assignments All assignments are to be completed. Most assignments are from your textbook, however there are some supplemental assignments that also accompany this course.  A complete list of assignments for the course can be found on the assignment page.

Each assignment will be given a point score and then your total assignment points will be added up at the end of the quarter to determine that portion of your final grade.

Format for submitting all work All work assigned will need to be submitted to me at: tmccabe@greenriver.edu as Word attachments. Please put your first and last name, the chapter, and the assignment id in the SUBJECT line of your email. For example, Jane Doe, Chapter 1, OPR #1, OPR #2

Your assignments need to be clearly labeled with your name, the chapter number (if applicable) and the assignment name, i.e. "Office Procedures Reinforcement exercise #1."

Each email should contain the assignments for one chapter at a time.  For example, you need to send me ALL assignments for chapter 1 together and then a separate email would be sent for Chapter 2, etc.

Please do not send homework assignments that are not for the entire chapter. If you do, I will assume that you have chosen to not complete the rest of the chapter's assignments.

Responding to submitted work Upon receiving your work, I will notify you that I have received your email. I will grade your assignments within one week and email you your score.
Tests The tests for this course are in written essay form.  The tests will be taken at the testing center on GRCC's main campus in Auburn.  The testing center is located in RLC 173. You may NOT use any notes, books, or supplemental materials when taking your tests.

The testing center's hours are:

Mon, Tue, Thu: 7:00 am - 7:00 pm  Wednesday: CLOSED
Friday: 7:00 am - 4:00 pm      Saturday: 8:00 am - Noon

All of the tests will be available at the testing center throughout the quarter and you may take your tests at any time PRIOR to the deadline.  Please see the assignments list web page for due dates.  There will be NO extensions for any of the deadlines. I will drop your lowest test score at the end of the quarter.

Your FINAL is a written report that is due on the last day of the quarter. You need to be working on this during the course. Please refer to the web page, "final exam information" for more details.

Unit Structures This course is divided into various units. For example, our first unit is the Ergonomic Unit, followed by Listening, Time Management, Travel, Postal, etc.

Each unit has a narrative web page that is basically the same as a class lecture. You need to open each of the narratives, take notes, and complete any additional activities that are assigned.  These activities are in addition to the assignments listed on the assignment web page.

Additionally, some units will require you to watch a video.  The videos are available at the Circulation Desk in Holman Library-if you paid the additional class fee, you may take the videos home with you and keep them for the quarter. You will need to show your receipt indicating that the additional $30.00 class fee has been paid as well as have a current library card. At the end of the quarter you will need to return the tapes.

Announcements I've created an announcements page that you should check regularly.  This page is a means for me to post reminders, changes, etc. to you as a class.

It is YOUR responsibility to check this page often - I would recommend at least every other day so that you don't miss any important information!
