  • Cancer and the Immune System The Cancer Research Institute presents a tasty series of graphics detailing the immune response to cancerous cells.
  • Cells Alive! Excellent coverage of a range of immune-related topics, including inflammation and AIDS.
  • AIDS: The War Within Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago. A very nicely illustrated series of pages that walk you through the replication/infection cycle of HIV.
  • Immunology and AIDS Reviews the immune system and explore how the system can both protect us and provide experimental tools to detect disease causing agents. Includes a lab simulation of the spread of a hypothetical disease causing agent in the classroom, and shows how the presence of antibodies in a sample of body fluid can be used to determine if individuals are infectious. Looks at the transmission of HIV and recent advances in AIDS treatment.
  • What The Heck Does Protease Inhibitor Have To Do With HIV? An article from "Bugs in the News"
  • Virology Time Machine  A multimedia extravaganza that features unique sights and sounds as you take a trip back in time or a leap into the future. You specify the time period---as far back as 4 billion years, or peek into the future to learn about the evolution of viruses and other interesting tidbits of information. Highly recommended!
  • Virus Replication "Ever wondered what it would be like to be polio virus or an HIV virus? This interactive tutorial lets you 'transform' yourself into a virus & then asks you to answer how you would behave under certain biological conditions. If you make a mistake, don't worry... lots of background information & pictures are available to help. A great learning tool!"
  • Our Immune System Written by Sara Le Bien, this site uses clever cartoon T and B cells to explain the function of the immune system. Worth a visit.
