Manufacturing Technology Program
 

Green River College's Manufacturing Technology Program is designed to meet the needs of those entering or working in the manufacturing industry.  The industry is undergoing change, with advances in machine and computer technology, creating job opportunities for skilled employees.

Green River College offers a two-year Associate in Applied Science degree as well as a certificate of proficiency that can be completed in one year.  Both are designed to prepare students for immediate employment in the manufacturing industry.

Your training in Green River College's Manufacturing Technology Program may lead to work as a:

Machinists are highly skilled operators of machine tools that are used in the manufacture of metal or non-metallic parts.  Working from blueprints or sketches, a machinist will make or repair parts for a wide variety of tools or machines.  Duties include selecting the correct cutting tools and work holding methods; calculating speeds, feeds and dimensions; making precision measurements; and setting up and operating various machine tools.

As a graduate of Green River College's Manufacturing Technology Program, you will be able to perform simple layout, plan a sequence of operations, and set up and operate a variety of machine tools with a minimum of supervision.  More advanced students will have proficiencies in the areas of computer numerical control (CNC) programming and machine operation.
