Sam's Class
The Mission
The next few
decades on this earth are going to be critical for the
entire human race. The choices that your
generation makes will define the next stage of human
existence.
It's up to you to
save this planet and develop society for future
generations. For many of you, the first step is
mastering English so that you can go on to get a strong
education. I want to do everything I can to help
you with that step so you can go on to make this world a
better place.
The Class
Sam's class is always a little bit different from
term to term.
Presently, Sam's Class is at Green River College's IESL program in Auburn, Washington.
No matter where the class is, what level it is, or who
is in it, it's a friendly, fun, collaborative place
where people from all over the world come together to
improve their English and make connections with other
people and cultures.
Sam
I grew up in the rainy and beautiful Pacific
Northwest. I have a deep love for the ocean, mountains,
trees, and cool wet weather in this part of the world.
I attended Tacoma Community College and earned my
Associates of Arts degree in 1998.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in Japanese Language and
Culture from the Evergreen State College in Olympia,
Washington (2001).
I lived in Kobe, Japan for two years and taught for ECC
(A Japanese conversational English language school).
I returned to the United States to earn my MA TESOL
degree from Portland State University.
I’ve taught IESL classes at Green River Community
College and other institutions for several years.
