Apply for a BAT Certification Examination

Who is Eligible
You are eligible to apply if:

  • You are not already certified as a BAT in Washington.
  • You have already taken a BAT Certification Examination and have received notification in the mail that you did not pass the examination.

No education, experience or training is required as a prerequisite for taking this examination.

How to Apply

  • If you are eligible, submit the most current application by the deadline date.
  • Mail it with the $245.00 fee payable to GRCC/BAT. Only checks or money orders will be accepted as payment of the examination fee.

Applications must be received by Certification Services at least ten (10) business days before the examination date. Space is limited and applications are accepted on a first-received basis. As a result, examinations may be full prior to the application deadline date.

Applications must be completed and signed by the individual applying for the examination. Only the applicants’ home mailing address and home phone number will be accepted. Applications received listing a business address and/or phone number will be returned.

You may also call Certification Services to request a BAT Certification Examination Application packet by mail.

Examination fees for eligible applicants are non-refundable and may not be transferred to a different applicant. The application fee will be returned only if the applicant is not eligible for the examination or if the examination is cancelled.
After an applicant is approved and scheduled for an examination, one voluntary transfer to a different examination date/location is allowed at no cost to the applicant. The voluntary transfer request must be received by Certification Services before the application deadline date. After one voluntary transfer, no additional transfer requests will be accepted. The applicant is required to submit a new application and pay a new examination fee. This applies to voluntary transfers for any reason.
Approved applicants will receive a letter prior to the examination confirming their enrollment and providing information about the examination location, time, procedures and study references.
